In the next couple of my blogs I thought it would be nice to get to know our Leapfrog Sports team better, and so to kick us off I asked Amanda, who most of you will know and has been with Leapfrog Sports from the very beginning, some probing questions…

1) What is your favourite sport?

Rhythmic Gymnastics, closely followed by Ice Hockey & Rugby.

2) What makes you laugh the most?

The random things people say.

3) What is your favourite and your worst food?

Favourite is a tricky one as there are so many…Steak Chasseur, Crème Brulee, and Salt & Vinegar crisps. Worst food is Curry.

4) What song would you sing at karaoke?

Depends on what stage of the evening! ‘Livin’ on a Prayer’ (Bon Jovi), closely followed by ‘Tragedy’ (with full Steps dance routine) & once I’m convinced I am actually Beyoncé; ‘All the Single Ladies’.

5) If you were a superhero, what powers would you have?

Like Father Christmas, the ability to stop time. Maybe then I’d get everything done I’m supposed to….

6) What do you like to do in your spare time?

Anything outdoors. With friends or family.

7) What 3 people, living or dead, would you invite to dinner?

Rasputin. Doris Day & of course, Colin Farrell.

8) Tell us a bit about yourself…

I was Leadership Development Manager at HBOS/Lloyds Banking Group for 25 years so developing others has always been close to my heart. I have coached all levels of Rhythmic Gymnastics for 30 years & am a qualified High Performance Coach, Rhythmic judge & have tutored others to achieve their Coaching Qualifications. My favourite places in the world are Australia & Moscow, where some of my most interesting & proudest moments in gymnastics have been, and where I have some of my closest friends. I am an avid fan of Strictly Come Dancing & truly believe I will one day lift that Glitterball.

9) Why did you want to work for Leapfrog Sports and what do you enjoy the most about working for Leapfrog Sports?

I wanted to give up Corporate Leadership Development & follow my heart to inspire children to love & experience all the factors that Sport gives us. I totally made the right decision; I love all our children, they are bright, inquisitive, creative, and great fun (maybe I should add that to what makes me laugh?). It’s a delight to go to work & see their sports skills & personalities develop week on week.

Look out for next week, when I’ll be posing the questions to Dexter!

See you in the classes,

Jo
